My first love in photography is weddings. I am just a life long romantic! It is a great privilege to share a special day with my wedding couples and their family and friends.
A day of laughter, love, dancing, singing and celebrating love! Best and Quench held their awesome wedding in Green Bay and I had the honor of documenting the day. So much love and faith - and a lot of chaos! But somehow we managed to make it through all the celebrations and too soon our day was done! How about your wedding, organized chaos? We can capture you day no matter what happens. Contact Me to learn more! I sometimes do a bit of wedding video production even though photography, still images, are my first love. I produced a wedding ceremony video for Katrina and Nick's lakeside wedding. I used three cameras for this ceremony and 4 audio recordings (the cameras and the house sound system). I placed two of the cameras on the sides of the ceremony so that each would capture a different view. These cameras were left in place for the entire ceremony. I place the third camera on my monopod and moved around to capture different views and close ups of important moments. Here…
During our engagement picture session I thought "we are going to have so much fun at the wedding!" Well, I just love it when I am right! It was a day with perfect weather filled with love and laughter and finished off with a lot of crazy dancing. The ceremony was at Fox River Baptist Church and the reception at Pullman's in Appleton. My reputation as a "wedding crier" remains intact - Sarah coming down the church aisle and the first dance were just beautiful moments! We also had a chance to slip away for a few minutes to do…
All I can say is wow! It such a wonderful day. The weather was perfect (after a rain and wind filled week). The guests were perfect and the wedding couple were awesome. I feel so blessed that I was able to share their day! Melissa and Aaron were married in Mom and Dad's backyard and it was a beautiful setting. We had a chance to slip away to the shores of Lake Winnebago for some sunset pictures - my favorite part of any wedding. Here are a selection of my favorite pictures from their engagement and wedding. So many to…
Lily and Eric were married on a Sunny March day with a hint of Spring in the air. Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the Neenah Bridgwood Hotel. I especially loved the way the light streamed into the windows during the ceremony and made the wedding party glow. Their ceremony blended elements from both the Groom and the Bride. I especially loved the Chinese Tea Ceremony during the service. The Tea Ceremony is a significant tradition, where the newlyweds show their respect to the elders in their families, and they in turn show their acceptance of the…
Emmy and Weiwei had a small and intimate wedding in Neenah, Wisconsin. This wedding really captivated my heart as Emmy and Weiwei are both such beautiful people! While all brides are beautiful, I think Emmy was just stunning in her elegant dress. She has that classic look that is timeless and beautiful and fills your heart with love and joy. Weiwei was handsome and dashing in his formal tux and his love for Emmy was so clear! I did double duty on this wedding - I did both photography and video of the ceremony. They were not able to have…
How to summarize a wonderful day of love and laughter? It was a beautiful May day in Neenah. The ceremony was at St. Gabriel, a place filled with light and beauty. After the ceremony we played around Neenah for some fun and games before heading to Pullman's in Appleton for the dinner and reception. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the wedding day. We have also included a few from our engagement session in the Fall. Learn more about our Wedding Photography Services
It was the one year anniversary of our per-wedding / engagement session. We met in some beautiful spots around Neenah and enjoyed some time in the warm Fall weather. The leaves were approaching their peak so we used some amazing trees for our background! It is amazing how things can change in so short a time. A year ago they were busy with plans for a wedding and their future together. So many things to decide and March was so far away. Then before you know it the wedding is over and time to start a new life together. And…
Ryan and Kayla were married in the Mitchell Conservatory (The Domes) in Milwaukee. It is such a beautiful setting for a wedding - the beautiful light and all the flowers and greenery around us. Of course, we had an unseasonably hot day so the ceremony was a bit warm! Thankfully Nicole had a short message. The reception was held in air conditioning so we were covered there. My favorite part of the night was couple portraits in the dome close to midnight. Some of the best pictures I've taken! Here is a collection of favorites from the ceremony and reception.…
We met at High Cliff State Park late in the afternoon. High Cliff is one of my favorite portrait locations. It offers a great variety of settings all within a few minutes driving time. Our session started right next to the parking lot then moved into the woods and some of the rock formations. We finally ended up on a hill overlooking Lake Winnebago right at sunset. So our pictures ranged from romantic to fun and quirky, with a few cinematic images at the end. One thing I knew for sure, all the fun and laughter at the engagement picture…
We had a wonderful time on a cold (and a little bit snowy) January day at High Cliff State Park. A few pictures caught the light snow and made a magical setting! Here are some of the favorite pictures of a beautiful couple. It was a windy wedding day! She and her bridesmaids had a good workout just keeping the dress and veil in place for the ceremony. I've always told brides that they should embrace random things at their wedding. Random things will happen and they actually make your wedding more memorable. No one remembers the perfect wedding - because nothing really happened. But everyone remembers the wedding where the wind blew or it was freezing or the maid of honor fell into the lake! Mind you, I'm not saying it is a good thing that the maid of honor fell into…
I am a certified People Person! Weddings are so much fun because I get to watch people and capture unscripted moments. This little angel was studying a bouquet in the receiving line after the ceremony. Not sure what she was thinking but she looks so adorable in the picture that a million moms would arm wrestle for the privilege of giving her a hug! Bride surrounded by children
Wedding memories... cleaning up my website this year and am finding lots of wonderful memories! Here is a picture from Lacey and Arthur's wedding in 2019. The memories just come flooding back. All the kids! All the Bridesmaids! All the fun! I feel so privileged to be able to share this wedding and all the others! Yes, wedding are an incredible amount of work! But soon the muscle aches fade and all the pictures are edited and delivered. Then you are left with all the memories of the fun you had and the love you shared in! Life is so…

Carly and Ryan's lakeside wedding - set to the song Circling. A short review of an almost perfect day. Carly and Ryan were married on a beautiful June day on the shores of Green Bay in Fish Creek. This video is combines some of our favorite memories from the day - enjoy! I have always like both still images and motion pictures. I have been steadily building up a great set of professional video equipment and plan on doing a lot more video in the future. Ironically, I find myself drawn to film and alternative photography more and more. To…
A High Cliff Bride So many beautiful brides - and so many beautiful images! I find the hardest part of photography is editing. Specifically - culling images the find the best. Sure, the occasional out of focus shot, or someone is blinking, is easy to cut out. But then I get 10 pictures in a row of the same scene but with wonderful little variations. A shy smile in one picture, a serious look in another. One picture is playful while another is deep and serious; and this one has a mystery! They all reflect the complex personalities of my…
January is the dead of Winter but wedding season is coming. It is not too late to find a photographer for 2020. I still have some room in my calendar. Casual, formal, BOHO they are all great and great fun. I specialize in "lifestyle" wedding photography. Lifestyle photography, at least to me, encompasses: Capturing moments as they happen - with minimal posing or interferenceSetting up opportunities for great photos to happenWorking with my couples to make sure the day reflects their personalities and dreamsInteracting with guests in a natural and friendly way - not just documenting the wedding but being…
Does wedding photography equipment matter? I think the answer is "sometimes". Let me tell you why. Two Kinds of Photographers I always thought there were two kinds of photographers - Technicians & Artists. Technicians love the technical aspects of photography - the gear. For them it is all about the equipment and the technical process of creating an image. Artists care more about the emotional aspects of an image. They view equipment as merely tools to get the job done. Getting the two together to view images can be frustrating but a little fun. The Artists will see the image…
Dateline: Annecy France, on the shores of beautiful Lake Annecy. People talk about their dream jobs or dream careers. I don't know if I have had a dream career but I have had a pretty good time. Maybe my fantasy career would be "International Wedding Photographer". Jetting off to romantic and beautiful spots with the rich and fmaous.. and of course earning a seven figure income! I shoot this photo in Annecy France at a romantic wedding on the shores of Lake Annecy. Does that qualify me an International Wedding Photographer? I think so... The interesting thing is the look…

A Google search for "Wedding Photographer" turns up millions of hits! How do you find the best wedding photographer with all these options? The good news is there are lots of great photographers in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. The odds are you will find one of them. The bad news is that even the best photographer may not the right one for your wedding! So what things should you look for to find the best wedding photographer? Here are some of my suggestions. What makes a photographer the best for you? A great photographer provides a great experience…
Wedding on Sunday and a different role for me - I was the officiant! Katie and Jake honored me with a request to marry them and I hope I rose to the challenge. It was a wonderful day in a wonderful location and I was so happy to be part of their new life together. Above is one picture I did take (I had to bring my camera and get a few shots).
It's Friday and my work week is finishing up. Or is the weekend kicking off? It's all a matter of perspective. Up is down and left is right depending on where you stand. Good is bad and bad is good depending on the ultimate outcome. I think it also depends on our thinking. If we seek the good we will find it. Or maybe it will find us. Did you ever know someone who seemingly always had bad luck? Everything goes wrong and their life is full of drama. Maybe it's not bad luck but bad thinking; they see…
